Words I never thought I'd type, I assure you. You know NOW!1,001 and all those other Top 40 compilations you see everywhere? Well, Pitchfork reports that some indie record labels are partnering to create & distribute compilations of indie rock.
EW.com says that the comps will feature the likes of Bloc Party, the Shins, Bright Eyes, Air, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, M. Ward, Ted Leo, Cat Power,
Silversun Pickups(UPDATE: Silversun Pickups have said that they are NOT involved in these compilations), the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Sonic Youth, and that labels such as Vice, Matador, and Sub Pop will take turns putting out each volume.
Pretty cool, huh? Now that The O.C. is off the air, there won't be any more of their excellent soundtracks to listen to, but these new compilations look promising to me!
