The movie & cosplay extravaganza scheduled for this afternoon has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 20, when the weather should be more cooperative.  In the meantime, sit tight, stay warm, and keep your costumes ready for March 20th!

2007 Garden State Teen Book Award Winners!

The 2007 Garden State Teen Book Awards have been announced!  The winners are voted upon by the teens of New Jersey -- this is a true people's choice award! -- and are chosen from ballots of 20 titles in each category.

And the winners are...

Fiction, Grades 6-8:  Al Capone Does My Shirts, by Gennifer Choldenko

Fiction, Grades 9-12:  Splintering, by Eireann Corrigan

Nonfiction, Grades 6-12:  The Book of Bunny Suicides, by Andy Riley

I'm on the committee putting together the 2008 ballot, and I'm happy to say that the teens of Camden County will have the opportunity to vote, both online and by paper ballot.  Look for paper ballots at your branch library starting in May (the voting period is May 2007 - January 2008), or vote online.  The online ballot for 2008 isn't available yet (since we're only 1/3 of the way through the ballot creation process), but take a look at the 2007 ballots to familiarize yourself with how it works.
