Camden County Library System branches continue their annual tradition

VOORHEES, NJ – Dec. 7, 2011- The Camden County Library System is offering annual Read in the New Year Celebrations at six of its branches. Kids can celebrate the new year a little early with programs that include a countdown, craft, stories and plenty of fun.

Bonnie Neubauer, the author of The Write Brain Workbook, will conduct a workshop about discovering the joy of putting words on paper. Ideal fo all levels from aspiring writers to blocked writers who want to keep the momentum flowing.

This summer, swarm over to your Library and catch the reading bug by signing up for our exciting, prize-filled Summer Reading Program! The theme this year is "Catch the Reading Bug." Kids of all ages will find programs and activities of the creepy crawly type at every branch.







National Library Week is April 13th through 19th, but our celebration of libraries is too big for just one week! The festivities kick off April 1 and continue at every branch through April 21 with antique appraisals, music, history talks, and performances by Mr. Malcolm and special guests, all sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 
The Teen Advisory Board of the Bellmawr Branch of the Camden County Library will present a hands-on theatrical workshop on Monday, March 10 from 4 - 6 p.m. The NJ State Library and the New Jersey Library Association have partnered with the NJ Theater Alliance to provide this program to teens in one library in each county. The Bellmawr Teen Advisory Board applied for and was selected to present this program.

On Saturday, October 27, the Haddon Township Historical Society in conjunction with the Camden County Library will host "The Jersey Devil,” presented by noted historian Bill Leap. He will trace the New Jersey creature's antics from various stories of its birth in the early 1700s through the pages of history into the 20th century. Facts from newspaper files, eyewitness accounts and genealogical records are inter-woven throughout the presentation. Leap, an engaging storyteller, describes this presentation as suitable for mid-elementary school age through adult.
On Saturday, August 4, 1 - 3:00 p.m., spend a "Romantic Afternoon" with 3 romance authors, Terri Brisbin, Gwynne Forster, and Beth Ciotta, who will be promoting their current books at our library. If you are a romance novel reader please come and join us for a romance-filled Saturday. Relax and enjoy the afternoon with non-alcoholic champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
Kids - join our summer reading club and investigate some great books at the library. Read on your own and be eligible for weekly drawings. We'll also have some awesome mystery programs and a closing party for all you super sleuths. Come to the summer reading party at your local branch:
